Department of Theological Cooperation correspondence files (1949- 1966) contain correspondence, reports, addresses, manuscripts, questionnaires, scholarship applications, and publications regarding theological conferences in the U.S. and abroad, theological speaking tours, coordination and administration of the American part of the Lutheran World Federation's (LWF) theological exchange program, LWF Assemblies, possible cooperation with the Lutheran Church-Missouri synod (LCMS), and the initiation of Roman Catholic-Protestant dialogues.
